student loan when claiming UC

Hi All,
I am currently on universal credit and i am a full time carer and get carer allowance.
if i take a student loan would it effect my uc monthly payment?

Do you have any dependent children?
Will you be studying a full-time course of advanced education?

I have a partner and we claim together UC.
My brother also sleeps with me and UC are aware of this.
no other people live with us.

Will you be studying a course of advanced education? If so, is it an undergraduate or postgraduate degree?

undergraduate second year towards a bachelor LLB degree in the open uni

Ok two things;

1. OU courses are always considered part-time for UC, but you’d not be entitled to Carer’s Allowance/Element if you’re studying more than 21 hours per week.

2. Student income can reduce UC, but that’s only if you’re entitled to a maintenance loan/grant, I’m not sure you are with an OU course?
