SKilled worker change of job

Hi,

I am already with an employer who sponsored my skilled worker visa. I have an offer from an other employer and will raise my Skilled worker visa with employer. If my visa is approved , can I still serve the notice period with old employer ?
Or should I apply for visa after my notice period is completed ?

A bit unclear , please help.
