PSW depandents

Post by sreekan2 » Thu Mar 28, 2024 1:25 pm

Hi All,
posting this question for a friend,

He came on a student visa in jan-2023 to do a master's degree at Swansea University, he completed his master's and will be applying for PSW next month,
Our question is, can he bring his family to the UK once he gets PSW? They are currently back home and didn't join him while he was on a student visa.

Thanks in advance.

No he cannot.

They would have have had to be in the uk as student dependents to qualify for graduate route dependent visas.

This is clearly stated on ukvi website.

What new rule are you specifically referring to?

This is not a new rule. This has always been the case for graduate route dependents.

The requirements have also been:

1. Graduate route is not an application that can be made outside the uk, for the main applicant or dependents.

2. For dependents, they can only apply as graduate dependents if they are in the uk as student dependent visa holders applying in the with the main applicant.
