PBS Dependant Extension After main application got the British Citizenship

Post by Mo_sha » Sat May 25, 2024 1:14 pm

Hi. I came to UK on general Tier 2 visa (now skilled worker visa) for 5 years, eventually got ILR and British Passport. My wife got her dependent visa in October 2019, and her current PBS dependent visa expires in June 2024. However, she needs 4-5 months extension to be eligible for ILR herself. Can you please help me with these questions.
(a) Will she need to apply for PBS dependent extension? What would be COS dates here, as I have British passport?
(b) What is the link for this PBS extension? We are finding some links (for eg family visa etc) so wanted to confirm on the right link.
(c) Will the extension have to be for 3 years despite the fact that the required extension time needed is only 4-5 months, and can there be an IHS surcharge refund for the extra time?

@Mo_sha, topics split - it's not very nice to tag onto someone else's topic with your questions, as your situation might be different.

Yes, she'd have to apply for PBS dependent extension. Not sure about COS dates.

The same one you used last time. It's not the family visa - it's partner of someone who is on a tier 2 visa.

It is for 3 years. No IHS refund.

Possibly, you might be able to apply for extension and then vary it to ILR, but other, more experienced members, will give a better insight on that.

It will be the last CoS you had before ILR.

https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/ ... d-children

It is a 3 year extension. It doesn't matter how much visa she needs for ILR. No there is no refund if she applies for ILR.

Hi, When I am checking online there are two links. Which one is right?
First link: Family visa https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -form-flrm

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... anner=true

It is NOT the family visa link. This route will resort the clock for ILR to zero and a new 5 year path (2 x 2.5 year visas).
