Financial requirement help - new job

Post by itsmarley » Tue Jun 25, 2024 11:47 am

Hi everyone,

My friend (uk citizen) is in the processes of applying for a spouse visa for her husband but she is thinking of leaving her current job which she has been in for 2 years. She was under the threshold until April 2024 when she started earning 29k however she has been offered a new job at a different company for 35k. If she takes this new job will she need to be in that employment for 6 months before she can apply for the visa for her husband?

If opting to meet the financial requirement under category A, then yes.

Not so if they opt to meet the requirement under category B. Not required to have been with their employer for at least 6 months. What's required is to be meeting the threshold with their current employment AND have earned the equivalent of the threshold in the 12 months prior to the date of application. So, the payslips covering those 12 months and the corresponding bank statements will be required.
