Multiple passport applications in a single envelope

Post by thekryptonite666 » Wed Sep 11, 2024 7:55 am

Hello! I sent my wife's and my son's documents in a two different envelopes with their respective PEX numbers written on them inside a master envelope with my son's PEX written on it.

I have only received acknowledgement for my son's documents having been received. When I track my wife's PEX - it still asks me to send documents.

For people with multiple applications - is it common to get updates on a single PEX number ? Or did the updates take place on both applications ?

Should I be worried or call the passport office for clarifications ?

Updates on documents received can take up to a week. Multiple applications are not necessarily processed together.
HMPO receives 100s of applications on a daily basis so acknowledgments may take time.

Have you been asked to send documents to the same office? Be aware that processing times are up to 3 weeks, so it's hard to chase before then.

So does that mean I should expect application updates on both PEX numbers ?

We don't know how applications are processed. Wait for a week or so and then try to call the helpline, ask for a senior case manager, and see what they say.

But surely, there would be precedences ? For people who have applied in a single envelope, do they get updates on both PEX numbers or just one ?
