this is a review number.
it works like so: they assign you a number and if they make a review for your app (in case of refusal), they add 01(,02,03...) to the end.

in my case I was refused and then faxed them an explanation letter. when I followed up they told that somebody made a mistake in computer and instead of review 01 that somebody assigned 2 additional review on it so my app number looked like xxxx/01, xxxx/02 and xxxx/03.
I got a detailed explanation from case worker on this issue, so I know what I'm talking about (at least based on own experience). If you weren't rejected, probably your case was reviewed twice so this double marking is appearing. You never know what is going on there - maybe your case was transferred to another case worker and got this 02 suffix.
All this are only thoughts. Just take it into consideration. Good luck.

I dont know the connection but got my reference for request for review with something similar. My first reference number was 036*** and then when i was rejected and asked for review they sent the same number but with 02 instead something like 036**/02. Just assumed that it either means the month since i applied in Feb or that its a review.

Its really astonishing to see confusing reference number provided by HSMP team. What an applicant do other than praying for best!.

Thanks,
Rajesh.

it could be that they have a new numbering system in which they want to try and keep tabs on the number of times you can ask for a review. there is someinthing posted on the website (unfortunately not working the past few days) which talks about limiting the number of reviews to 2, I thought it only applied to work permits only but hey maybe they are going to introduce it to HSMP as well

My reference number was 036***/01 and I received my approval letter last thrusday.
So need not to worry about 01 thing.

Hope this helps
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star.
