28 days grace Period after visa issue.

Post by ejaz2g » Sat Feb 07, 2009 5:20 pm

Hi there,
I have a query regarding my spouse. Recently my spouse has got the visa for uk as dependent of tier 1 migrant general. She doesn't want to come to uk in the next two months. Some one has told me that once you get the visa you must have to enter into the uk within the 28 days of the visa issued.
Will anyone from the forum please guide me that is this rule applies only on the people having settlement visa or does it also applies on Tier 1 migrant general.
Your quick response regarding query above will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards
Mohammad

Where have you seen the 28 day rule?

She must enter within the validity of the visa. The longer she leaves it, the more likely she will be questioned at length on arrival. So, if she arrives a year after it was issued, they will question if she is still dependent on you or whether you are still based in the UK.
