Pre April 2006 approvals and maintenance funds

I need to apply for my wife's dependent visa from Pakistan. I am on HSMP Pre April 2006 approvals.

Last year when I applied for her dependent visa I didn't have to show maintenance funds as I was told there was no need for bank statements for dependents of Pre April 2006 approvals.

Can someone please clarify if the rules are still the same or now I mut show £533 in balance?
