Stringent New Rules for Immigration practitioners

Post by robert52 » Thu Apr 15, 2004 8:07 pm

Please read here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department ... index.html

and learn who may advise, consult and represent immigrants for fee before Canadian immigration.

Only members in good standing of Provincial or Territorial Law Society in Canada and Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants are authorized to be paid representatives and to advise and consult for e fee - the trick is that only Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents in Canada can be members of any of listed organizations.

For list of CSIC members go here:

www.csic-scci.ca

So, most immigration firms outside Canada are out of business as far as providing paid assistance and advice in respect to Canadian immigration, regardless what kind of association they may claim having with authorized practitioner in Canada. Even if they work closely in any sort of association with authorized practitioner in Canada then all they can do is to pass your contact to such practitioner in Canada - they cannot assess your chances, they cannot answer your questions, they cannot consult you, they cannot represent you, they cannot take any money from you.

So, bye bye Four Corners and others in UK - they are not members of any authorized Society in Canada.

So, please be very carefull and if you want to hire professional then get one who is authorized by Canadian government, one who is a member in good standing of one of the above organizations.

Canadian government will simply not deal with not authorized representatives anymore.
