Work permit status if applied for Tier1

Hi

Due to the recent changes I have decided to apply for Tier1 ASAP as I dont have Masters.

Currently I work for a company on a work permit.
When I relocated to UK I signed a Relocation agreement.
The agreement states that (work permit does not have this clause)

"You agree that you will at no time alter your visa status or engage in any separate visa or work permit application with any party whatsoever without the company written permission".

Does this clause stop me from applying the Tier1
If not, what happens to my CURRENT work permit when I get my tier1 Visa.?

2. I am getting married in April and I have to travel outside UK.
Is it possible not to send the passport with the application.
Or is there way to get my passport back if i did not receive by then.
Can i apply for Urgent treatment giving my wedding card as proof

Even I am in the same situation. I was planning to apply for Tier1 at the end of my assignment. Due to change of rules, it's now or never!!

Anyone please let me know what happens to the WP once Tier1 is issued.

Does the company get the notification when Tier1 is issued?
