maintanence funds - DATE of letter issued from the bank

Post by InidiaCalling » Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:44 am

Hi,

Is there any requirement which says that the letter from the bank for the maintanence funds (2800gbp) should be no more than 7 days old at the time of submitting the application??

I am asking this question as I was not able to find this requirement anywhere....the only thing I could find is that the end date of maintanence funds should not be 1 month before the application submission date....

PLease advice
Thanks

lata is absolutely correct

All evidence must be dated no more than one month before the application is submitted.

Its one month if you are applying from UK.The 7 days rule is applicable if you are applying from India.Read the guidance notes from BIA site(pdf file)

Thanks Ramesh, for the info.

However, I need to confirm one thing. Was the 7 day rule applicable for both UK and Outside applicants before 8th Dec?Page 31 of tier1 policy guidance says explicitly that "for UK it is 1 month and Outside UK it is 7 days"

The statemnents need to cover a period of 12 months within the last 15, and therefore they would most likely be dated during that period. I.e. the latest statement should be dated no more than three months prior to the date of application, assuming that you are claiming for a full 12 month period.
