maintenance fund

Post by bhavin_IT » Sun Mar 01, 2009 9:15 pm

I am currently in USA and planning for Tier 1 Visa before the rule change(1st Apr). I am having a bank account in USA which shows 1000 dollars ( around 700 GBP on 17th Dec, 2008 ) min balance from past 3 months + I am having Fixed Deposits (FDs) in India of Rs 1,60,000 (2200 GBP). Am I eligible as per the maintenance fund is required if I want to apply around March (20th March) or not?

I am not expert of immigration rules but one thing I am sure is that they will not consider any fixed deposit account at all. I think you will be fine with one account which has more than £800 for last three months.

You require £2800 in your account/accounts if you ar applying from outside UK, FDs are not considered.

Please maintain these funds before applying, otherwise, you will be wasting your fees
