Just any help with dealing with Forwarding a record of marriage
out of the UK
what do you want to do exactly with the photocopy?
you must have been issued with two original marriage contracts from Cairo, So translate one into English and legalised from the British Consulate there and then all DONE!!! you can use that anywhere in the world. good luck

I did this from Italy. First I got a letter saying it had been deposited and saying how to apply for copies. It took maybe 2 months total, from the registration to receiving the copy that I ordered.

if it took 2 months to reach Italy , then i would assume that it might take a year to reach Egypt, if it were to be delivered there in the first place !

It is a facsimile of the original, together with a translation certified, in my case, by the consul-general. In all it is two pages long.

As it also includes the seal and the phrase "certified certificate of marriage" and a reference number on the top and the seal is on the bottom, it is longer than the original. It is rather as if the original had been placed on top of anoter, larger piece of paper and the photocopied. The seal is green.

I did it through the consulate.
