Schengen Visa - Business Trip & Invitation Letter

Hi All, I am Indian passport holder with HSMP visa. I need to travel to schengen countries for business development activities (meetings, conferences etc). My company would issue a letter stating that i need to travel on business. Can I get a multiple entry schengen visa without any planned trips. Or without any invitation letter

You will not get a visa unless you show them exactly when you want to travel ie Hotel, Flight bookings, dates etc, Schengen Visa is generally issued for specific dates and wont give you a freedom so you could travel whenever you want.
