Can Tier1 forms be electronically filled

Post by falcrum » Thu Mar 05, 2009 2:41 pm

Hi,
I am not sure if we can produce forms that are filled electronically? I could not see any sections in the general guidance to specifically point at this.

What is best recommended, hand filled forms?

Hi,

I had the same issue. Unfortunately, the form provided is in pdf ( and not ms word) format. You have to hand filled it.
I tried to converting the pdf into MS Word document using the tool available but it changed the layout of the form.

Best fill by hand then electronically.

Can Tier1 forms be electronically filled

So are you are recommending that we fill in form by hand because the pdf file is not editable. But, I have used a s/w to fill in all the required fields electronically. What I want to find out is, will the HO accept a form filled electronically or should they be hand filled?

The electronically filled form looks a lot neater, that is all.

Hi,

Download acrobat pro 9.
It gives you a 30 free trial version which allows you to edit the Acrobat PDF.

But beware. You will have to add fields in all the DATE columns. For some strange reason, the PDF author decided not to have data fields against the dates.

Thank you all for this information. I have decided to fill in the details electronically and post them to HO.

Interestingly, when I called home office and inquired about sending an electronically filled and printed form, they categorically said that it should be hand written and in black ink!!!!

Maybe true for UK. I'm not sure in case of India, atleast they accepted my computer filled Tier-1 forms at Chennai BHC.
Anyway, not much of help for you as you are looking for extension forms.

You would think that forms done on the computer would make sense, wouldn't you? Nevertheless, I tend to prefer doing them by hand, just in case they decide to get uptight about it...
