Applying for COA and FLR civil partner

Post by roball » Sun Mar 15, 2009 12:05 pm

Hi-

Ive just recently been refused a tier 1 further leave to remain application. I'm currently on a 5yr WP visa so have right to remain subject to being tied into my current post (and no chance of progressing in my career for the next 5 years).

My partner (of 18months) and I were planning on getting married early next year but this recent refusal has made us reconsider.
We didnt know about the COA process until we went to give notice.

Questions-
Will my recent refusal impinge on the chances of a COA being approved?
Same question for an FLR application?
Is the COA due to be removed due to human rights issues? I know it is trying to stop sham marriages but I find having to ask the government (and providing them with the hefty sum of 295£) for the right to marry my partner just a bit... wrong.

Thanks for any help,
Rx
