In new guidelines...About working spouse

New guidelines say that

"They will be able to work if they wish. However, any such employment must not be necessary to support you or any other dependants. Please note that any dependants continued stay in the United Kingdom is conditional on their remaining in the United Kingdom as your dependants."

Please clarify what does it mean?

Does it mean that if spouse works she will not be given FLR?
If only spouse work, then what does following statement shows:
"However, any such employment must not be necessary to support you or any other dependants"

I am really very confused.

They will get FLR as long as the marriage and co-habitation is continued. in other words as long as you and them are still partners (married) and continuing to live together as a couple.

It means they should not have to work for you to be able to live without claiming public funds etc. and when you apply for your extension you can only use the main applicants income to meet the economic activity requirement. it does not really matter how much they are earning whats important whether you as the main applicatnt are earning an income to meet the requiremnts
