When to apply for HSMP Extension?

When to apply for HSMP Extension?

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me when do I have to aply for the HSMP extension, Is it one month before the expiry of current visa or two months?

No more that 5 weeks in advance. If you apply too soon, they will simply return back your application.

That may not be correct.
Check out the FAQ. For HSMP extension, it is still 2 months in advance

Thanks for your reply friends.

I just checked on NEW HSMP GUIDE FOR UNDER / ABOVE 28.

They have mentioned that

" If you are a Highly Skilled Migrant you will, in the last month before the end of that period, be able to apply for permission to stay for an additional three years under HSMP"

That means one month before the expiry of the visa.

It is always metioned as one month in Guidance notes. you can check earlier versions of the guide. but HSMP FAQ section has been created to address the specific questions an on-going basis. There are plenty of people on this forum who have applied two months before and got their extension. I think you can rely on this information to make your decisions.

I had sent an e-mail to HSMP customer service team and was advised to apply four weeks before the expiry of my visa.
