hsmp entitled to nhs treatment only after 12 months true ???

Post by Soniraj » Mon Apr 25, 2005 8:02 pm

I read on one of the forums that one is entitled to nhs treatment only if one has stayed for more than 12 months, or is allowed to stay more than 12 months, since hsmp allows only 12 months initially does it mean that hsmp people are not entitled to nhs treatment during the first year ??

No, this is not true. You will be entitled to NHS treatment if your leave to enter/remain is at least 12 months under the current immigration rules. The initial 12 month leave to enter/remain will be fine, and besides, no one checks to find out anyway.

Not sure either of those comments is exactly correct. There is lots of guidance available by clicking here, and don't be put off by the heading ... it does not just cover visitors.
