UKBA last week only processed 1 day's applications:

"During the week commencing 27 April 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 25 March 2009. "

"During the week commencing 20 April 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 24 March 2009. "

Does it mean they slowed down???

I think it's the large number of applications due to their unclear statements about Tier 1 G rules changes announced earlier.

Well i was thinking that now they are getting less applications because of the new rules in effect, bachelor instead of masters. So, they are kinda relaxing big time :-)

The largest consumer of Tier is India and Pakistan.
With new rules in effect they have officially removed people from Pakistan to apply for Tier 1.
And how many masters do you find in India.

Probably they are cleaning the backlogs.

I'm hoping that once they finish the pre 30th March application they can speed up because the application number from 1st April should drop considerably.

I've submitted mine mid-April and I'm a 'lil bit worried that it will take me months to get my passport back.
