what documents are needed to apply for sponsorship license

hi,
can anyone pls tell me what documents are needed from my employer to apply for sponsorship license?
I havent spoken to my employer to sponsor me for my work permit. I am currently on PSW and will end in april'10. To present very well in front of my employer i need information about evidences we need to apply for sponsorship license. Do we need solicitor to apply for that or is it straight forward?
