Citizenship BILL

Post by rkrohela » Wed Jul 15, 2009 9:46 pm

I am alarmed by this new Citizenship Bill and the latest proposals. What about us who arrived in November 2007 for example??

IT IS VERY UNFAIR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO INCREASE THE ILR/PR FOR US FROM 5 TO 8 YEARS!

We should campaign against this and ensure no retrospective changes are introduced for existing migrants!!

Hello Meats,

Well they can certainly do what they like, but it is against basic human rights and a genuine expectation that migrants like me were given; of obtaining ILR in 5 years.

That is why I oppose any retrospective changes. This amounts to cheating, and is a gross violation of human rights.

It's not against basic human rights at all.

As much as retrospective change sucks, I agree with meats - this is not a basic human right.
