Your ex-country and your new irish citizenship

Post by Darkhorse » Thu Jul 16, 2009 9:39 am

I would like to hear what people generally do about their original passport of their ex-country once they have received their irish citizenship.

is your old country allow dual citizenship?
do you have to return your old passport to your ex-country?
do you apply for 'without condition endorment' in your old passport?
which passport did you present to immigration officer when returning to your original country?

--> No. Not full dual citizenship in the conventional sense that I could physically carry passport of ex-country and the new one.
do you have to return your old passport to your ex-country?
--> Had to return the old passport to the embassy, they stamped a CANCELLED sign on it and returned it back to me.
do you apply for 'without condition endorment' in your old passport?

--> Did not apply for without condition endorment' in old passport. Travelling on irish passport on all journeys as that the only valid one I have.

With respect, replies are only useful if they include which country is being referred to.
I am no longer posting publicly on this website - PM me if needed.
