how long is the duration of initial Tier 1 (General) Visa?

Hi Friends,
how long is the duration of initial Tier 1 (General) Visa for the initial application. If extended later how long can it be extended?

Initial visa currently being provided is for 36months (3yrs)

Initial visa is 3years and the extension is for 2years after which you can apply for Indefinate leave to remain
