Citizenship Question

Post by brijeesh » Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:28 am

Hi,

I am a Greencard Holder for the past 3 years (since Aug. 2006). I have been married to a U.S. Citizen for the past 8 months. Also, my husband has been a U.S. Citizen for more than 4 years.

When will I be eligible to file for the U.S. Citizenship?

Thanks in advance.

Under the circumstances you present, you would have to file under the five year statute. So, you can file four years and nine months from the time you received LPR status.
