ILR from HSMP - Can I apply between jobs?

Post by sarah162 » Mon Jun 06, 2005 12:29 pm

I will be eligible to apply for ILR in the week of 25 July. However, I recently changed status from work permit to HSMP and the week that I am eligible to apply to the PEO in Croydon will be my last week of work with my current (work permit) employer before I start a new job on 1 August. Is it inadvisable to apply for ILR before I start the new job? I can show 4 years continuous salary history with the old employer and have a detailed offer letter from the new employer.

Also, is it better to include a spouse's earnings under contributions from family to show higher total income -- or does this make it look like I can't support myself and my husband (we have no other dependents)?

Many thanks,

Sarah

You should be economically active (employed or in self employment) on the day you apply for ILR based on HSMP
Where there is a will there is a way.
