Application question Confusion

Post by hypegal3 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:06 pm

Please can someone explain page 36 of the student(tier4) application form.

K7 Initial application
K10 Extension application.

Just wanted to know if the initial application is meant for students who is just entering uk for studies. Because mom has been studying here for a few yrs, so does that mean she should use extension application. She was alittle confused and ticked initial application K7.

Also.....
The college she will be going to has said they have been assessed by the HO and is waiting for their sponsorship number. Does that sound good enough to you.

Please help

This is from the tier 4 guidance :
"• you have done a course of study in the United Kingdom in the last four months before you
apply or are currently studying and need more time to finish your course;
and
• that course was six months or more in length;
and
• you wish to apply for a further period of leave as an adult student.
103. If you meet each of the above you can apply showing the lower maintenance costs,
whether you are applying from inside the United Kingdom (for an extension) or from overseas "

If you mom comes under these, then it is an extension. if she is switching from any other category it will be initial application.

For the college is concerned, i think you should wait till they have their sponsorship number as you cant apply without it. it is important you need a proper visa letter with sponsorship number for your application.
you can check in the register of sponsors in home office website.

Thank you, her visa is expiring at the end of the month, and dont have much time, we keep waiting for the updated version of the list of colleges and still her college has not appeared yet. So now she has registered with another college and its rated a B, so again not sure if thats good enough.

As far as the college is registered as TIER 4 LICENSE HOLDER, it doesnt matter if its A or B.
