EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS proof

Post by nina.roy » Tue Aug 11, 2009 4:47 pm

One of the education proof requirement states the following:

"Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in universitysealed envelopes."

Does it mean that I have to submit my origininal degree transcripts i.e. marks sheet?

* My Masters degree was done in a UK university - how do I get a sealed envelope from them?
* My prior education (Bachlors ets) was done in india, how do I get a sealed envelope from them?

Is this requirement mandatory? Can I not get certified copies of my degrees and transcripts?

You can send a request to the institutions, where you have graduated from, to send the transcripts. You will get them in university sealed envelop. They are valid if you do not open them. If you send them in that envelop, they will be considered as original. You can get them from your institutions in UK and India, by paying some fees.

Wow, thanks Gisel, I had no idea I had to acquire that. I was about to photocopy my degree and transcripts and get the copies certified by a solicitor, then sumbit to CIC. Do you know if this method is acceptable?

I believe if you get a photocopy of your degree and a letter from the university stating your attendance and other relevant details, it should be sufficient. You can also forward the certified copies of said documents.

From my experience, I never sent any originals and they never asked except from latest pay slips, bank statements, IELTS result and police certificates, after they started processing my file. I sent all photocopies with initial application!
