Confused about maintenace fund statement

Post by ginger.garlic » Mon Sep 07, 2009 1:14 am

Hi all,

Please help me I am about to apply Tier 1 visa. Currently I am on work visa here.

I am confused about maintenance fund statement. I got to know from home office site that bank statement showing maintenance fund should have running transactions. What is meant by that?

I have two accounts with my bank. I get my salary in ISA(Internet saving account) and I dont do my daily transaction from this account instead I transfer one amount monthly from my ISA to my saving account and do the daily transaction from there .

I have maintained maintenance fund in my ISA account.

Is it fine if I show bank statement of ISA account for maintenance fund but it is not having many transaction but 2-3 transactions monthly?

Please help this has really taken my sleep away I am reading everywhere but its not clarifying my doubts....plz plz help.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

As per my understanding, you should show statement of your account where you are doing transactions regularly.

You can show your ISA account on its own - it's not a problem.

Thanks everyone for quick response.

I will be showing my ISA bank statement for maintenance fund but I am worried as I don't do much transaction from this account , only 1-2 per month so is there a possibility my point for maintenance fund will not met.

Is it necessary to do regular transaction from it?

Although I don't think so as there are at least 1-2 transactions of my salary getting credited every month plus transfer to another account for my regular expenses.

I will try to get letter from bank stating my minimum. balance on this account , will that help?

please help to come up from this confusion..

No. You don't need to have regular transactions in the bank account.

Bank Letter:Mention in the letter that the balance of your account has never went below the reqd amount at any point of time in the past three months.
