Changes to immigration rules

Post by CoolestGuyC » Sun Sep 13, 2009 6:35 pm

given in http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary have silently removed the provision for students to apply tor Tier 1 General immediately after their study (Page 15 1st paragraph):
It deletes the provision for periods of study leave to be taken into account when calculating the points awarded for previous earnings under the Tier 1 (General) category. The change ensures that decisions will be based on an applicant’s recent work experience and earning capability, better demonstrating their ability to make a significant contribution to the UK labour market.
Don't worry though, the changes wont come into effect until Oct 1 2009. If any one is affected, apply now! (A typical person affected would be : Currently student (studying a masters or PhD degree), hoping to get Tier 1 General based on their income prior to starting their studies).
