Tier 1 - Earnings!

I need to make £32,000 in order to secure 35 points for Earnings. I have worked as a salaried employee at a reputed University over the past 12 months. I'll be facing a shortfall of around £1500 by the time I send in my application for FLR under Tier 1.

Can I make up the shortfall by including untaxed proofreading / editing fee as part-time earnings?

I do not have any company for the part-time editing work; the work is ad hoc, few and far-between and private. But the payments are made directly into my bank.
