Penalty Fare for not touching fare

Post by nshah » Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:04 pm

Hi Guys,

I have applied for my visa on 13th of August 09. Today by mistake my oyster was not validated and I had to pay penalty for £25. Is it very serious offence  ??? Will I be on their Police records. Do I have to show when I apply fir the next visa. Please advise!! Am really worried.

That's not criminal offence so do not even bother thinking about it.

Relax and sleep well.

Oyster is generally the cheapest way to make single journeys in the Capital.

An Oyster card can store up to £90 of credit, which can be used to pay as you go, plus your Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass.

It is a ticket that you use like a proximity card to swipe your own fare. You add money or travel cards to it, it is blue, credit card size, it has a chip in it, and you can use it on the bus, tube, tram, DLR, overground, get money off some riverboat services and use some national rail services.

2. In my opinion, this penalty wud not make any difference on any visa pplications anyway.
