Applying for Tourist Visa with WP Visa

Post by gkataria » Sat Sep 26, 2009 6:47 pm

Hello Friends,

I have a query and hope i would get an answer here.

I want to travel to UK and have a WP Visa but my company has delayed my trip until further notice. I need to travel to UK urgently and therefore wondering if i can apply for a Tourist Visa without my WP visa getting cancelled.

Please share any information you have regarding this !!

Why can't you just come in on your Workpermit visa?

Yeh Travel on WP. Is it a problem? You have valid WP and company still employe you.
It will also help you to start ur clock for ILR.

Very interesting post. I knew that one can not have Tier one and WP at the same time. Alwas latest visa supersead the previous one. but its interesting that one could have WP and visitor visa at the same time. You always learn a new thing every day.

Don't travel to the UK on the work permit entry clearance if you are not coming to do the job on the work permit.

You are supposed to enter the UK based on the visa specifications! If the OP is not entering the UK based on the Work Permit, then s/he must apply for the correct visa for which s/he wishes to enter the UK.
The law is clear. If you have two concurrent visas, then you must state upon entering the UK, which visa you are using to enter on that particular occasion.
The OP is right in seeking to apply for a different visa if his/her entry is not based on the WP.
