UK Residence Card can I visit Ireland ?

Post by runie80 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 7:19 pm

Hi folks,

I would like some information regarding the visit to Ireland.
I am a NON EU spouse of EU citizen with a UK residence card.

I Would like to visit Ireland for a weekend with my wife <from poland>

The Question is

Do I need to apply Irish Visa ?

I have searched through this forum and was unable to find the answer.
I would really appreciate if anyone has any information regarding this.

If you need any more information please feel free to ask.

Thanks in advance :)

also if the visa is required any idea about the duration Irish embassy takes
to process those applications ?

I have gone through their website and there isn't even an email address to request any information. or if I have missed something please enlighten me :)
In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Visa is required.
Consider that your UK Residence Card falls under 'residence permission' referred to in the second paragraph of the following link. Therefore NOT valid for travel to Ireland!
Processing timeframes are also included in this link.
