doing leaving cert on stamp 3 ? that's a bit unusual ...

you certainly may go to any college (provided you have enough money)
... when enrolled , visit your nearest GNIB and get your stamp 2 .

i find out 2day that if your on stamp 3, you can go college if they let you and you don't need to get stamp 2. when you enroll in college you can stay on stamp 3.

Yes, but you cannot work even part-time on stamp 3. The only difference between the stamps is the limited ability to work without a work permi.,

another difference is that stamp 3 is counted towards citizenship and stamp 2 is not.

mmmh, I think the GNIB won't give you a stamp 3 if you're a student.

I'm no expert on student immigration, but I understand the process is as follows: you're first admitted in a college, then you get your student visa by showing the admission letter and once you're in Ireland you get your stamp 2 or 2A.

But the scenario here seems to be a dependent (stamp 3) who is going to go to college. I'm not sure how that works, but I think probably your stamp will be changed to 2 when you're due to renew your stamp?
