ILR

Post by salars » Fri Oct 02, 2009 11:01 am

Hi,
I applied for ILR thru the Premium Service. They were unable to make a decision on the same day bcos i had a break of 3 months 8 days (total in 4 years - 160 days), 3 years ago. I had explained this gap in my coverletter as being away partlyon business. They said it was a valid application and needed more checks. Basically cos of the gap.
Anyone has thoughts on this? Would this be considered? It was not a straight refusal though.
Fingers crossed.

I know its easier said than done, but you have to be patient. They will do some checks and if you are ok and did not have any other gap, than you are going to be fine.

I must say it sounds strange to me .. normally in marginal cases they will discount weekends . 8 days is not long and also u r well within 180 days. I think you are unlucky here but you dont have to worry .. you will be ok as u r still under 180 days. I didn't count my wekeends. u should have done the same or asked someone here

To me Cover letter was not a good idea .. it must have made his attention to that over 90 days gap. Normally if u r under 180 days they wont look for absence.

Good luck

Cheers
Ash

BTW which PEO u went? and did u had business absence letter ?

Did not have a business absence letter as it was too long ago. I went to the croydon peo.

I had to list all absences and it stood out straight away.

i have asked for discretion to be applied. i nkow of ppl where weekends were disregarded. Im hoping it will be overlooking.

ur right abt the bad luck :)

Hi Salars
We have not heard any good news from you since you lodged ILR application. Please give any update asap. What does it mean when you say "I have asked for discretion to be applied". I am more or less in the same boat and your case can greatly help others in similar situations.
Regards
Mughal
