How long will it take is there anyway to excelarate

Hi all

I have sent my passport to Home Office for ILR in March 2009. Since then I have not got any respond from them.

My application is based on 10 years legal stay although there was 14 days gap in between where I went home and my student visa expired upon return a visa was granted in the airport. The gap is 14 days. Hope this is ok.

Please let me know if there is anyway to excelarate this process, my lawyer has send a reminder letter but still no reply.

Can I see an MP to send a letter to HO?

Your advise and suggestion will be appreciated.
