Tier 1 HSMP renewal and away days

Hi all,
How many days I am allowed to be away for succesful HSMP renewal?
I have been out for business work only.

For HSMP/Tier 1 renewal there is no rule for days spent outside the UK. This might impact your ILR application in the future, but not for Tier 1.

How early can one apply for Tier 1 renewal before the expiry of current visa?

Home office recommends at least one month earlier than expiry of your visa, but some people have applied successfully seven months earlier too.
