HSMP to Tier 1 Extention : Couple of Questions

Post by pkumar » Mon Nov 02, 2009 4:20 pm

1> For earnings, is it 12 consecutive months from last 15 months OR is it mix-n-match of ANY 12 months in past 15 months?

2> If i am showing only 9 months for my earnings (given i qualify for extention) can i claim UK experience? or it should be atleast 12 month work experience or more to claim uk experience points? also i am assuming for EXTENTION i can claim for uk experience?

Thanks in advance!

It must be a period of consecutive months. However, you do not have to be employed for the full period.

As far as I can see, if you can get points from previous earnings section and the earnings were entirely made in the UK or at least £16000 (check) of earnings is made in the UK, then you can claim points for the UK experience section.

I agree with myegin on both the points.

On the second one, heres something straight from the UK experience section of the guidance:
151. in the section for previous earnings, and these were for earnings made both in United Kingdom and outside the United Kingdom, at least £16,000 of the earnings must be United Kingdom earnings to receive the points for UK experience.

Adding to Myegin n InUKonHsmp...

for Q1. In the 12consecutive months you choose in the last 15months.. you CAN go for a mix n match of any months in those choosen 12Con months..

"It must be a period of consecutive months. However, you do not have to be employed for the full period."

Does that means that from the 12 consecutive months which i will be considering i can be only employed (hence show salary for) only those 8-10 months?

For Example: If i am going for extension in April 2010. Can i show salary for period Feb 2009 to nov 2009 (given that i qualify for extention based on these months salary) only?
