1 Year waiting time!!! FLR (M)

Post by zebra3 » Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:25 am

on 28 october 2009 its a year since my solicitor sent to the UKBA my FLR M application based on a marriage, and have been waiting since.

I find the wait exhausting, I am not sure if my solicitor could have done more or its just a waiting game?

has anyone been waiting as long as this?

can anyone suggest what can I do next?

Thank you

Abdel

What visa status did you have in the UK when you applied for FLR(M)?

didnt have a visa, so didnt have a status. I have been with my actual wife since July 98 and we married in 2008.

My solicitor is basing my case on discretioanry Leave as my wife suffers panic attacks and that can be backed up by medical records. we own the house, we dont rely on public funds whatsoever.

thanks

A Discretionary leave application for FLR(M) is not likely to be a quick process.
Did your solicitor never suggest the option of returning to your home country to apply for a spouse visa from there?
What nationality do you have?

talking of my solicitor and the Home office, i was at college and received an email from my solicior saying that he had a letter from the home office requesting they are looking at my case actively, and when I got home I had an A4 Letter from the home office requesting 2 recent photos and documents from me and my wife for the last 3 months. with a form (Method of entry questionnaire attached)

Has anyone had that? they gave me 28 days to send them the documents. Can I give them to my solicitor to send them to the home office?

The letter came from a liverpool office Dept 105, Home office, Managed Migration, PO Box 306, Liverpool, L2 0QN

Hi zebra the letter from the home office requesting 3 months docs and photos is standard procedure.....never heard about the questionnaire though. Yes you can give them to your solicitor to send back to home office....please do this soon as the normally want it 28 days from their dated letter not when you got the letter - include as much evidence as you can to PROVE your marriage is live ...e.g. photos, receipts for anything with both your names, emails, bday, valentines cards, basically as much as you can think of and what they have requested.

Stress....I know that feeling trust me...please just read through it carefully make a list of everything you need to provide and make another list of all the stuff you are going to include plus extras. If you need any help feel free to ask.

About the questionnaire.

Better to fill it with your Solicitor and make sure you do not implicate your self as some questions there seem very doggy.

I've been through that road before and I reckon your success is assured.
Good Luck, Mate.
