switching WP to HSMP method

Post by call2bala » Tue Nov 17, 2009 12:41 pm

Dear Experts

I am on work permit in UK since FEB 2008. My WP is valid till 2013.

I would like to change my WP into HSMP.
I thought of applying HSMP in FEB 2010. Because if i apply in Feb gives 2 years stay in UK. If i apply HSMP in Jan/Feb it will give me 3 years of visa. Thereafter it will be easy for settlement.

My question is:

If i apply for HSMP in DEC 2009, can i request the home office to give me the HSMP stamping from FEB 2010? (i have a valid WP till 2013)

Regards
Bala

If you have enough points and you are sure you will not be lagging in any points if you apply in Feb mar 10.. then u shd wait till then so that there is no extra trouble for your 5year plan.. but you might have read in the news that there are lots of changes coming for the ILR.. at around/from july 2011..

Does the 10 month full time work on SEGS counts towards the 5 years work need before getting ILR? I got my WP 10 months after working on SEGS. This means I should be able to apply to ILR 10 months before my WP expires?

HSMP doesnt exist anymore, you would need to apply for Tier 1.
