Maternity leave on Tier 2 Visa- Possible?

Friends,

My wife works with NHS on a Tier 2 Visa and she is in early pregnancy.
Does anyone know about possibility of taking maternity leave while on a Tier 2 visa. OR would the visa be cancelled when taken leave?

I know it's an awkward situation. anybody have any experience or know about this, plz share information
