Help! Passport expires in 2 years, can I renew Tier 1 now?

Post by mubu » Sat Nov 21, 2009 9:20 pm

I am on HSMP hence need to renew it to 3 years Tier 1 extension.

My passport expires in 2012, but I have to renew it next year (2010), thereby how will they stamp my passport for 3 years, when my passport will expire in 2 years?

Will my application be rejected? Anyone had similar experiences?

Any help?

No.. You can renew your passport later and carry both the passports or you can apply again to transfer your Visa to the new passport.

Why do you need to renew your passport next year when its end date is till 2012?
When you have your new passport you still be holding your old passport which has valid visa, so its not a problem

Do they see passport expiry date too. What do they have to do with expiry of passport. As anyone will get a new passport after its expiry i guess it has nothing to do with it.

Even my passport expires in 2011 and i will get my extension now for 3yrs.

Will they have any problem..

How can they expect us to apply passport 2yrs before, i guess thts nt possible.

Seniors please reply.

Don't have to worry about it. You can alway extend visa and then get your passport renewal.

I have the same problem. Do you think the Home Office will stamp a Tier 1 for two years only (not 3 years)?

HO should stamp for 3 years. You will have to renew your passport before it expires.

This is not a problem mate, I think while stamping a visa they only check minimum 6 months validity of passport, in ur case u have 2 years.
