Details reg. Dependent Visa Case- Tier1 applicant is in Ind

Post by giridharpn » Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:22 am

Hi,

I hold a tier-1 visa valid from June 2009. I have been in India all this while but I have traveled once to the UK in Aug 2009 for a month.
I am planning to apply for my dependent.
I like to know would there be any issue with me not being in the UK/ in employment.
I am employed here and can show proofs of employment.
Can someone shed light on the procedure we need to follow to get the tier-1 dependent in this case?
Can you also point me to the documents needed in this case?
Thanks a lot for answering my query.

Thanks Ramesh and tcpip_helper,

I plan to submit the following documents for the dependent.

1. Wedding photos
2. Marriage Certificate
3. Copy of my passport
4. Bank account showing the maintenance funds [Can this be the same account with which I applied for Tier1. The funds will be more than 1800GBP but less than 2400 GBP. Will it create an issue since I used the same account to show the funds for my visa. I have transferred the funds to fixed deposits etc. BTW, I applied in March 2009]
5. I am employed in India and still living in India.[Should I show some accomodation y booking hotels in the UK? Payslips -My indian payslips won't help right.]
Sort of confused here. Kindly help me.
Thanks a ton,
Giridhar

please read the dependents HO Guidance for Mainteannce funds...

Page 8 paragraph 41 says as below:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... policy.pdf

41. For example, the Tier 1 migrant has 41. been in the UK for 6 months and is making an application at the same time as his/her spouse and two children. He/she must show that he/she has £1600 for his spouse and a further £1600 for each child, in addition to £800 required for his/her own support. In total the family will require evidence that they hold £5600 in available funds (£1600 x 3 = £4800 + £800).
