F-1 Visa : Work & Study ?

Post by wizbiz24x7 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:32 am

Hello Everyone,
I'm going to USA for my pilot training next year on a F-1 Visa, issued by my Flight School. After I'm done training, the flight school allows me to work as an flight instructor in their school.
But I also want to pursue my graduation college degree(Computer Engg), while I'm working as an Instructor in the flight school.
Is that possible ?

You must be registered as a full time student when you attempt to work which preferably should be on campus. If you can demonstrate that you are experiencing unforseen financial hardships and that you've tried to find work on campus first, then you can get persmission to work off campus from USCIS.

I know the complications in work while on a F-1 Visa(20 hrs/week,etc), but I still can't get the exact scenario of what's gonna happen, as because, as per my flight school, my course will end & then I will be working as an instructor, so that's no study but only work. And since I want to study at a college in a different field simultaneously, the scenario gets even more complicated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you'll need to ask for permission in your case.

I think I have to agree. Ask for the permission in that particular case.
