As far as I am aware, parents cannot get dependant visa, if you are in T1(G). They can get a visitor Visa and visit you for a max period of 6 months / stay.

Please ask them to contact the nearest VFS in their home country. The VFS will give them the latest document requirements. Typically, this would mean, your passport copy, bank statments from you, housing agreement and similar income documents from working. There are no general ones as it depends on circumstances. (whether your parents are still working / retired etc).

Also, they would need to go in person to the VFS office as Finger prints and IRIS scan are mandatory now.

The VFS site for India is http://www.vfs-uk-in.com

Hope this helps.

normally
Parents can not get dependant visa if u r on tier 1 general.

Its best to apply visit visa for them, once they hv lived here 4 just less than six months, go back and get the visitor visa again.
Once they enter uk one or two times then apply 4 long visitor visa.

Then they can come uk, stay just less than six months, go back and can come bk again.

Rule of thumb is, you should not visit more than six month in a year.

i checked with laywers.. you can apply for parents dependent visa if either of your parents is above 65 and they are dependent on you financially emptionally etc.... but its not easy.. usually you need to fight for it.. but people get it also...

No, you did not get the right information from your lawyer... You need to have ILR or citizenship to apply for parents as your dependents. Rest of the information you got from the lawyer is correct.
