You are thinking of applying for HSMP? Well you can't, it has been abolished, for new applicants.

Tier 1 (General)? You need to check how many points you have.

Tier-1 does not gauge you on your skills but points. If you score enough points i.e. 75 and provide satisfactory evidences of your earnings/points you should be fine.

Don't mention that to a London taxi driver! It takes years to learn "the knowledge"!

Better form a company

benefit - tax 21% ( less than sole trader )

better control and in presentation.

NEVER GO FO SOLE TRADER (Tax is main reason)

Sushil-ACCA, if you don't mind me saying, that is a bit of an over-simplification. Lots of other issues to take into account, ranging from amount of profit, how to extract money from the company, and even possible IR35 issues.

If some one is carring geniune business IR35 should not be a issue ,

in all cases Company form of business is best , but still most of our friends go for sole trading structure , due to ignorance of tax implication.

only sole trader is good and there s no choice when credit rating is issue and applicant is not postion to open company business a/c

In simple words, it doesn't matter whether you are on a board of directors or driving a taxi. You are eligible to apply for Tier1 as long as you have got required points.

Sushil-ACCA, again you are over-simplifying tax matters, particularly about IR35.

Now I am not disagreeing with you that in many cases operating through a limited company is better, from the tax point of view, but nevertheless it is necessary to consider each person individually. In particular, how to extract money out of the company, and the NI implications of that?

You may disagree with me , nothing wong in it but still disadvantages are more than advantages of sole trader business compare to company structure

this basics we learned when we started business education and they are there will be there

for geniune business IR35 IS NOT a issue - even HMRC accepts this
