Does HSMP lead to Naturalization

Hi all,
I would like to know if successful HSMP application leads to naturalization as it is not specified in the guardian note? what is actually mentioned in the guardian note is that HSMP applicatant can stay permanently in the UK under ILR.

If so, how long does it take to get naturalised/British Passport?

If someone comes to the UK under HSMP, after 4 years they can apply for ILR. After they have had ILR for at least one year, and given that they will have been in the UK for at least five years at that point then they can apply for naturalisation as British.

Armed with a naturalisation certificate getting a British passport is a mere easy form-filling exercise.

There are other rules relating to the naturalisation application but the above is it in a nutshell.
