Form 8 - Naturalization

Post by rainbow2007 » Thu Dec 10, 2009 6:17 pm

Hi there. I am an EU Citizen living in Ireland for last 6years. I just have a one query on a question 5.4 in this form:
Did you have a permission to remain in the Ireland for 5 out of 9 last years?
Should I answer yes or no??
As an EU Citizen I do not have a stamp granting a permission to remain, so I think the answer should be no.
But as the EU Directive, the EU Citizen can remain in any country, so it would be like yes.
Really bit confusing. Honestly I would go with a no, but I am not too sure.
Would anybody be able to give me a hint how to go about it?? Many thanks!!

Yes, you were legally resident as an EU citizen and you don't need a visa/stamp in your passport.

You have to prove your residency by providing tax certificates, bills, mortgage agreement, etc.

Read the explanations at the end of form 8.
